Introduction

Rani Mahal (Queen's Palace) is a historic palace located in **Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh**, India. It is famously associated with **Rani Lakshmibai**, the brave queen of Jhansi who played a pivotal role in the **1857 Indian Rebellion** against British rule. The palace served as her residence and is now a **museum** showcasing artifacts from her life and the freedom struggle.

- Built in the **18th century**, Rani Mahal was the royal palace of the Jhansi rulers.  

- **Rani Lakshmibai** lived here and used the palace as her administrative headquarters.  

- During the **1857 revolt**, she strategized against the British from this palace.  

- After her defeat, the British took control and converted it into a **court and administrative office**.
