Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli, commonly known as K. P. Sharma Oli, is a prominent Nepalese politician who has served as the Prime Minister of Nepal on multiple occasions. Born on February 22, 1952, in the Terhathum District of Eastern Nepal, he hails from a lower-middle-income family. Oli embarked on his political journey at a young age, joining the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) in February 1970.
Throughout his political career, Oli has held significant positions, including serving as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs in the interim government from April 2006 to March 2007. He was elected to the Constituent Assembly in 2013 and became the leader of the party in the assembly and legislature-parliament on February 4, 2014. Oli was elected as the President of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) during the 9th National Congress on July 17, 2014.

First Term (October 2015 – July 2016): Oli was elected as Prime Minister on October 11, 2015, receiving 338 votes out of 597 members in the Legislature Parliament. His candidacy was supported by various parties, including the UCPN (Maoist), Rastriya Prajatantra Party Nepal, and others. He was sworn in on October 12, 2015.

Second Term (February 2018 – July 2021): Oli was re-elected as Prime Minister in February 2018.
